E-Learning really takes off

As an Investor in People Champion and Times 100 Employer, ensuring we engage with our staff in appropriate and meaningful ways is key to promoting a culture of learning and personal/professional growth.  Part of that has seen an investment in some truly innovative e-learning packages which we’ve developed and made available for our staff.

Already, our staff have really shown their engagement and commitment to this style of learning and, in the last two weeks, 179 e-learning modules have been passed!  This is a fantastic amount and something we wanted to share.  For us, it tells us that e-learning is a useful way of engaging with and training our staff, it tells us that our staff are committed to learning and it also tells us that our staff are skilled and knowledgable in their chosen field.  Great results all round!…

YOU Scoops News Health Award Win!

A huge congratulations to Support Worker, Tina Brown at Foster Road who scooped the Mental Health Worker/Best Team Award at The News Best of Health Awards 2011 held on Friday 16 September at Portsmouth Guildhall.

Tina was nominated without her knowledge by resident Steve who said “she’s always there for us and she always supports me, especially through the difficult times.  I’m very pleased she won the award.”

Tina was picked from over 200 submissions for the awards which aim to recognise the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to make a difference and provide the best healthcare.  The awards are the second Health Awards to be run by The News.

“I’m pleased as punch,” grinned a surprised Tina, “that I won was amazing but I’m particularly proud just to know that Steve thinks I’m doing a good job.”…
